Position Summary

The Minnesota Recovery Corps supports persons recovering from Substance Use Disorder to build the recovery capital they need to be successful. As a Member Mobilization & Project Coordinator, you understand the importance of recovery and national service. You will build community connections to recruit people to become Recovery Navigators, and foster peer-to-peer connections that mobilize current/future AmeriCorps members to leverage their local networks to support program recruitment needs.

We are currently recruiting for the 2019-20 program year with opportunities beginning in November 2019 or January 2020. Your commitment to Recovery Corps will be 40 hours per week. This is an AmeriCorps member position with the Minnesota Recovery Corps. Although the earnings are modest, the rewards are great! You’ll join an amazing cohort of Recovery Navigators from all backgrounds and experiences.

What YOU Can Expect

  • Recruit individuals in recovery from substance use to serve as Recovery Navigators

  • Support and coordinate a variety of projects; build professional experience in talent acquisition, volunteer coordination, and communications/ project management

  • Develop and lead trainings, events, service projects, and outreach initiatives

  • Develop and maintain tools, systems, webpages, and training resources

  • Evaluate new initiatives and strategies you develop to determine their effectiveness

  • Increase organizational capacity to capture and publicize on-the-ground stories

  • Assist Talent Acquisition/ Recruiter staff with ongoing applicant communication needs

  • Receive training, professional development, and ongoing support from staff

  • Be an ambassador of the program by sharing your experience with the wider community


  • Stipend (paid every two weeks) - $608

  • Earn education award of up to $6,095

Overall Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • Have successfully completed at least one (but no more than three) term(s) of AmeriCorps service, preferably with the MN Recovery Corps or MN Opportunity Corps

  • Are dependable and have a history of good attendance

  • Able to understand and follow instructions

  • Can set a pace and maintain a work schedule of 40 hours per week

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (like Microsoft Office Suite, database and software use, email, and internet)

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with English fluency

  • 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent

  • A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States*

  • Agree to and successfully complete a background check

*Applicants who have received deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are not eligible to serve as AmeriCorps members at this time.
